Cling Stamps

The new catalogue is coming out soon, and with it, Stampin' Up! is changing all of the stamp sets over to the new Cling format or the familiar photopolymer.  Wood and clear mount will no longer be offered, except background stamps will still be available on a wood block if you choose it.

The stamps, like the former cling mounts, come ready to assemble - hey, this really is just to save you some money rather than having them do it.  Think IKEA!  When you put the cling film onto the stamps, you are left with the full sheet, minus the stamp shapes, as extra.  DON'T throw it away!!

This is one of the best tips out there.  Keep the scraps and convert your old clear mount stamps into cling stamps.  I don't know about you, but I never thought the clear mount stuck all that well to the stamp blocks or Stamparatus when I used them.  I always ended up using some double sided tape to help them stay on.

With the cling film, being careful to make sure you attach it right side down, you can make all your stamps into cling stamps.  I have done it with many of my sets already, and it works great!

Another thing you can do is take your wood mounted stamps off the block.  I was nervous trying this for the first time, but it works like a charm.  Simply stick your block in the microwave for 5 or so seconds, then take it out, peel the foam and rubber off together, and peel of the sticker.  You can put the sticker on the back of the foam and, voilà, you have a clear mount set!  Add the cling film scraps, and you have taken your wood mount stamps to a whole new level.

I hope that you find a stamp set in the new catalogue that you would like to try, and that you love the cling format as much as I do!  Give me a shout or drop me an email if you need help with any of the information that I have shared.  Happy stamping!
