Making cards is something I love to do, whether it is for someone I care about, to get ready to share this passion with others through a class or workshop, or as commissioned by a person looking for me to make a card or set of cards for them to give to others.
The first set of cards were a result of my Mother's request. She selected the stamp sets, bought them, and then asked me to make cards with them as it is not something she enjoys doing. She had me put an order through, which I had delivered right to me. The plan is that I will be making about 30 cards for her right now.
The first set that I am using is called Heartland. It is a beautiful, vintage looking set of four stamps including one sentiment. This is the same set of stamps, started the same way using Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad and then watercolour pencils, chalk pastels with a blender pen, and Stampin' Blends markers. I added some floral embellishments and ribbons to some, and spritzed some with a mix of Early Espresso Ink Refill and water in a Stampin' Spritzer, and I love the way all of them turned out!
The next is a card I made for a friend. It is a wedding card, and it was requested that I make it humorous and simple. I found some stamps that I thought might work, and this is the set that he chose. So Hoppy Together was one of the sets from Sale-A-Bration 2019, which took place from January to March this year. I used the coordinating dies from Hop Around to help cut out the pieces - thank goodness as those flies are tiny and would be tough to fussy cut! This is a money holder card, so there is a pocket inside for a check or cash to go in. It was fun figuring out how to make it, and custom making an envelope to fit it as well!
I am glad that I am able to make cards for any occasion, even if they are ones that I am not using myself. Let's face it, I can only have so many in my stash for my own personal use! I am looking forward to using the Winds of Change stamp set to make more cards for my Mom. I will share those when they are ready!
