Winds of Change
Stampin' Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue |
This set is the second set my Mother bought and is having me use to make her a bunch of cards. I was glad to be getting the chance to play with this set as it is one that caught my eye when I first got to look at the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.
Winds of Change may very well be a new favourite of mine, and I haven't even used all of the stamps yet!
I used Memento black ink to stamp the image on some Whisper White cardstock, then dug into my pile of Stampin' Blends. I couldn't decide on one colour, so I kept changing, but tried to keep them coordinated. I am not sure whether I like the mixed colours or the gradient look better. I think they all turned out amazing! I can't believe I made this up on my own, no case-ing involved!!
I used a piece of paper as a mask after I finished colouring the image, and sponged on some Seaside Spray Classic Ink very lightly to colour the sky a bit. I am pretty happy with how that turned out. The sentiment is from the same set, and then I chose some coordinating ribbon - not all of it is my Stampin' Up! stash, but the Rich Razzleberry is a retired one that I got during Sale-A-Bration. I love how the little bit of ribbon gave a bit of texture to the look.
After I glued the finished piece to the card front, I took the tulips and added a black and white image on the bottom corner inside. The perfect final touch! I am not sure who coined it, but "No naked envelopes or insides!"
