I am always finding it challenging to follow the old
KISS principle of keeping it simple. This month, Stampin' Up! has challenged its demonstrators to continue with their year long
#simplestamping promotion and to use nothing but stamps, ink and a current DSP - Designer Series Paper.
I am still working on the
Winds of Change cards for my Mom, and decided that I could try this out. Here is the result, and I am pretty happy with it!
The
Woven Threads DSP is beautiful, using all of the new
In Colors for 2019-2021. I set it off with
Night of Navy Cardstock for card, and I added a piece of
Whisper White inside with the bicycle stamp, colouring just the tulips to keep the inside simple. No dimensionals was hard for me, but I did it. Actually, I had just stamped the sentiment right on the sky background, but silly me, I didn't use the
Stamparatus, and it didn't come out clear. After taking my time colouring, I didn't want to waste the paper, so I stamped and added the same sentiment on top. Fixed!
Just because I show you cards that are a bit more involved, or you find ideas that have layers and ribbon and embellishments and fancy techniques that look fabulous,
DOES NOT MEAN that you have to do all that to make a beautiful card! KISS and
#simplestamping works wonders, and can be all you need to show someone that you took time to make something special and wonderful just for them.
