Supporting Others and Making a Difference
During this weird and crazy time, there are many that are suffering. The suffering it causes but is not exclusive to those that are sick, family of those suck or affected, those that suffer because of being alone, without jobs or income... But there are also those that are always marginalized. The groups that lend support to marginalized people are also suffering, as their sources of grants and income to keep their doors open are disappearing or drying up completely.
ASPECC, or Alberta Sex Positive Education Community Centre is one such place. Offering resources and support to those that are discounted and ignored by many because of their choices or their nature, this organization seeks to help some of those that are marginalized in our society.

I read about the difficulties they were having in keeping their physical space at this time, and the loss of that resource to some could be devastating. I decided there was something I could do to help.
I created some card sets to donate to their silent auction fundraiser in order to do a little bit of good for others. I lucked out and got to have some fun and found some relief to my stresses at the same time.
I made three sets of pride cards a d one set of cards featuring the transsexual flag colours as well. I used some of the cheeky sentiments from the Stampin' Up! Share Sunshine PDF set that Stampin' Up! created to fundraise for organizations to help with COVID relief efforts. A win win if i do say so myself.
I used mostly scrap paper leftovers from other projects, and pieced together the backgrounds on scrap copy paper from my recycle pile. I took the backgrounds and used Stitched Rectangles to cut them out, then embossed them with a variety of folders to give them a bit more character.
Lastly, I glued them into a black mat, then a white card. Ase to make the focus the colours. I used dimensionsals to attach different sentiments, and added a colored liner inside the cards.
I topped it off with some colourful paper liners for the envelopes and packaged them up in sets of 4.
I hope that they bring a little bit of help to the organization, and a bit of a smile to those that end up sending and receiving them too.
