Papercrafts Outside the Box

Christmas time has come and gone, and I can finally share some things I made. I love making things to gift to others, and this year was no exception.
I saw an idea online early in the fall, and got right on it. I was able to order a bunch of Scrabble tiles on Amazon for a reasonable price and then the work began.
It took a bit of figuring out to make the puzzles for each of these, but once I got going I was on a bit of a roll. I made these for my parents, and a third one for my sister in law.
The basis was the set of names, but I wanted to make the first two coordinate so they could be hung together. Eventually, I imagine they will be separated, and I wanted something my brother and I would both like, but also that our parents would enjoy and be proud to hang and show in their home. The last one was more about my sister in laws tastes and likes, knowing that she is not much of a flowery type.

I love how the final product turned out. They are so different but they all turned out so well. The two were laid on some National Park Paper I found at a little store in Edmonton called Urban Scrapbooking. It was something that appealed to me as my family has always loved camping and the mountains, and living in Alberta and BC, it seemed to fit.

The cork accents and accompanying papers and sentiments, all from Stampin' Up! Finished both of well.

The third used papers exclusive to Stampin' Up!  I loved the colours in the Everything is Rosy suite (retired), as they allowed for neutral with a pop of colour. The background wood DSP from the In Good Taste set was perfect to tie into their home.  I love the bits of being that made it pop and just added that extra something.

Papercraftong does not need to be all about cards. I love making these shadow boxes, and also did some Post It notepads up with pretty covers too. The limit is only your imagination- which can be helped with some internet and Pintereat searches too!

I will plan on making another post with the notepads, along with some instructions on how to make them. They make a great gift and are a handy way to keep a pad of paper close by or in your purse or car.

I hope that you had a great Christmas, as much as was possible this year!
