Gift Giving
I have said this a few times lately, but papercrafting doesn't have to be just about making cards.
Birthdays have been a bit of a letdown for most people recently, and for kids... well, they are just downright horrible. When you are used to having friends, cake, balloons, fun, well, a COVID-19 style birthday just isn't the same.
A friend of mine recently asked for any and all who were willing to share cards for her daughter's birthday. I think this is the third time I have taken up a request like this in the past several months. Well, I sat down to make the card and ended up making a bookmark and a notepad first and coordinated those and the card and envelope all together. The coordination part may get lost in all of this, but I do know her Mom will notice and appreciate it too!
I used the Stampin' Up! designer series paper Pleased as Punch (retired) as my starting point, because hey, what little girl doesn't like rainbows and flowers? *The rainbow print is on the inside of the notepad cover, and wouldn't you know I didn't think to take a picture of that?
Well, it turns out foxes and sparkles are faves of this particular girl, so out came Foxy Friends stamps (retired) to make up the notepad front, as well as some silver glimmer and Gorgeous Grape card stock.
I added some bright purple ribbon I had hanging around and some jewelry embellishments ( I think they were the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels). I added a bit of glimmer with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. It is always a great add on!
The sentiment I used on the notepad is from Leave a Little Sparkle (retired), and for the card it is a new set being released today. It is the Approaching Perfection Cling Stamp Set, available from January 5 to February 28 for FREE with a purchase of $60.
Sale-A-Bration is the best time of the year to shop for those things that you have always wanted, to join up as a new demonstrator, or just to replenish your basic staple supplies. For every $60 you spend, you will receive a product from the Sale-A-Bration selection for free! I love the special stamp sets, DSPs and bundles that they design just for this great time of year.
Not only is it sales that should catch your eye, but the new January to June Mini Catalogue launched today as well! If you would like a copy, please let me know and I can hook you up.
I hope that your new year is starting off well, and... happy crafting!
