Crafting with friends...

It has been a long haul and lonely times for many since COVID began. I know that I appreciate having been vaccinated and the opening of of restrictions lately. Friends and doing things with other people... well, we just shouldn't take that for granted!

I was able to have a friend join me this week, and showed her my craft space and shared what I know with her. She was completely new to stamping, and took to it like a fish to water!

First, I showed her a few things that I have made, then we decided to jump in and pick a couple of stamp sets that she liked.  Then, I shared with her my best secret to making great things- the internet!

We went to Google and typed in "Stampin' Up!" followed by the name of the stamp set. By looking through the images that came up, we were able to find a design she liked, and ran with it.

We used Stampin' Up! Products like Classic Stampin' Pads, Stampin' Blends, and coloured cardstock. The new Basic White cardstock provided the perfect background to make our cards.

We used retired stamp sets Butterfly Gala and Waterfront. The great thing is, even when sets are no longer current,  they can still be used and you can find inspiration for projects within them. I keep the ones I love, and let others go to make room for new sets in my storage space.

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad is another product that is a good basic for jumping off with. It is a great ink for basic stamping, and then you can add colour with cardstock, markers, and pencil crayons if you don't have any of the other Stampin' Up! Products yet and still want to try some things out. It takes time to decide what specific tools you want to add to your stash, and it really is not necessary to purchase everything at once.

I think her cards and mine both turned out fabulously!  Comment below to tell me what you think.
