Christmas and kids...
If you have read any of my posts before, you probably know that I am a primary teacher. Once in a while though, I get the chance to work with some of the older students at school. This time, I get to Share What I Love with them and make some cards in an after school art club run by another teacher.
Today, because of horrible road conditions headed anywhere around Edmonton, I took a personal day and stayed home. My personal day was not spent doing much at all on the personal side as it is report card season, but I did get to take some time at my craft desk making these two sample cards and prepping the pieces for the kids. I also got started on the next card below, but the prepping is not done just yet. (Oh, and spending the day today means I may actually get most of my weekend back to spend with my family instead of working.)
I did something that is called CASE. I copied and shared everything. I don't take credit for these card ideas. Actually many of the card I make start with ideas I get from other crafters. This one come straight from another demonstrator, Lynn Dunn of the US. You can check her out at https://stamptasticdesigns.com/ to see more.
I am actually thinking the first set I can do with my littles in Art class, but the second one is much more difficult. I will prep the card stock pieces, including punching the circles. I may even tie the strings to suspend the trees, but the kids will get to punch them out and assemble everything themselves. I even have stamps with sentiments for the inside of the cards.
The supplies I used for the first card are readily available and current, but the second are all retired supplies other than the solid colour cardstock. It would be easy to substitute any current DSP for the plaid, or even any other papers you already have. The tree could be switched out with other shapes and could span other seasons as well.
