I'm so excited...
My husband is so awesome! I know that not all husbands are, but mine? Wow.
Christmas was not a plentiful thing for me this year. I watched the presents mostly go to others. But when it WAS my turn? Ears, speechlessness and excitement says it all. First was the necklace that I had seen MONTHS ago in a local jewellers. I didn't know what to say. It meant so much because it has all three of my daughers' birthstones in it. No small feat when they are sapphires, rubies and emeralds.
The next was exciting for the crafter in me. I have long looked at cutting machines. I used o have a Cricut, but sold it because I rarely used it. I found that I never had quite the right cartridge for what I wanted to do. My SIL had toyed with getting a Brother Scan N Cut and asked if was interested in splitting it with her. That plan fizzled away.
Well, more recently, I started looking into them again. This summer I found a great sale on them but after sending it to my husband, decided that I should just pass for now on the deal. It was a lot of money to invest. And then came Christmas... my husband kept that email and waited for black Friday. He got an even better deal. And I jumped and screamed when I opened the package and saw what was inside.
I got the Brother ScanNCut SDX 125e. It has preprogrammed shapes, will take additional files through a USB, and the best yet... I'll scan an image and cut outline, details or both. That means I don't need to spend so much on dies and can cut out things that don't have coordinating die sets for them. I can use it I to cut vinyl, foam, and even fabric. I can even have it draw things too.
Today I read through everything. I tried the sample project. I cleaned up my space and tidied up and cataloged all the things I had been procrastinating getting done. And now I am free and clear to play and try things out.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I plan to spend some time seeing what I can do with it! Once I try it out, I will update all of you on how it went.
