Bubble wrap anyone?
I had big plans for the next few weeks. My daughter's wedding is in two and a half weeks, and I have crafting to finish up for that (pictures of the tags I am making when they are done, I promise!). This week was to be my last full week of teaching before then as we have convention and then I have taken a few days off for the wedding. The kids are going to be here the weekend before and then the days leading up to the wedding.
Yep... busy, but good.
One of my favourite things about Stampin' Up! is all of the coordinating colours, and my new craft space along with some amazing new colours of blends that I had arrive about a week or so ago have had me itching to get creative. Well, it was colours of another kind that arrived instead, and now my plans have changed.
The colours? Yep, that is the reason for the bubble wrap. Bruises. All up and down my right shin. And crutches and immobility to go with it.
Yeah, when I do things, I don't do them half way at all.
My husband, who retired only 2 weeks ago, gets to enjoy my company all of this week instead of bidding me adieu as I drive off to work. He also gets the pleasure of waiting on me hand and foot. Oh, and did I mention the over 4 hours he sat with me in the ER yesterday as we waited to find out why the swelling had just kept getting worse after I fell and smacked my shin 4 days before? The first day, yes, it hurt, but no biggie. I was used to getting banged and bruised up. Like his aunt pointed out... I, like the other women in his family, do not have the middle name "Grace" for a reason. My daughter does, but I think that was a misnomer on my part even there. Have I mentioned how amazing my husband is? But I digress...
My leg, it turns out, is NOT broken, but I managed to injure the bursa sacs in my knee when I went down. Hard. So no bending, leg up and that means... no driving and no working. What? I can't manage an entire class of 6 and 7 year olds without bending or moving my leg?
So... I hope to get the wedding crafting done tomorrow. I also figure I am going to finish the book I am currently reading in the next day or two. We have watched 2 of the 3 Hobbit movies so far. I am hoping to do some craft painting too. All of this I can do from my position on the couch with my leg straight out in front of me or to the side. Cards? Nope. That involves a lot of work to clean up downstairs yet, including wall painting that I just can't even consider for now, much less moving around to access the supplies.
I figured I would get this all out and vent to the 1 or 2 people that might read my blog. Thanks for letting me at least think that someone in the universe out there might actually be interested!
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
Sharon
