Beary Cute Christmas

This summer, I attended a workshop and learned a lot from other demonstrators in the Stampin' Up! world. I was encouraged to take a leap and hold a card class... and I did it!  It was a product based class, using the new Holiday Mini as my jumping point.

As always, demonstrators get a sneak peek of products as they come out. When I saw the new catalog, I was immediately enamored with the Beary Christmas Suite. I chose it for my class, and I have zero regrets! This is my first time using a Memories & More Cards & Envelopes and the coordinating Card Pack. I have seen them, but decided it was time to try it.

I was seriously amazed at how easy it was to put these cards together. My first card, I chose the card base from the set, and then a coordinating piece from the card pack. I decided that it was enough as it was, and mounted it with dimensionals. Next, I used a sentiment sticker and mounted it on a scrap of cardstock. It needed a bit of bling, so in came the red enamel dots. These had been sitting in my stash for quite a while. Wow, what an impact they make, and so simple to use!

The rest of my samples were made much the same. Embellishments, ribbon and more scrap card stock rounded out the choices, and wow. I was impressed. It was tough for me this time. These products are brand new, and when I got them, had not been released to the general public yet. I usually rely on the internet as a starting point... but that didn't exist for these. Regardless of that, because Stampin' Up! makes products that coordinate with colour, it really was easy to make great looking cards.

I had people over to craft with me, and we had a wonderful time. I challenged myself when making the samples and during the class to use only the Memories and More supplies as well as the DSP, card stock, ribbon and embellishments that I included in the product class supplies. I did it. The attendees, which included my mooching daughter (she would have used the supplies anyways lol), proved to be talented crafters one and all. They made a variety of cards that spurred on my imagination and each other's. The cards that follow were the products of their work!

Product based classes will definitely be happening again. Thanks ladies for permission to post your pics and your creations. <3
