New Products... New Class!
The last set of cards is probably my favourite. Using the new Bee Mine Suite Collection, I used the designs from the On Stage event, although I changed one slightly and stepped it up. The four cards in this set are the ones that I will be making with those that sign up for my two workshops opportunities, and then for my first ever virtual class that I will hold after that.
The Bee Mine Suite is a Valentines set, but I tried hard to make the cards less restrained by that. I am not a huge Valentines person, but I do like cards that I can use for those I love - anniversaries, birthdays and even just a simple note of thanks. I think I made that work with these designs.
The first card is the one that I changed up. It didn't have the layer of Poppy Parade, but I thought it needed that extra framing rather than Daffodil Delight layers right next to each other. I also added the banner for the sentiment rather than directly stamping it on the card front.
I love the cute little bee. He was super easy to make. This bundle comes with a Bee Builder punch.
If you have ever used a Stampin' Up! punch, you already know that these are fantastic tools. I tend to use mine upside down so that I can line up on the cardstock as I punch it. When I made the bees, I also punched the paper first and stamped it after so that I didn't have to worry about the punch lining up on the stamping. There are three punched pieces at a time, and I know from experience that this makes for a lot of frustration if things don't line up. Because the stamp set is photopolymer, it is super easy to line up the stamps with the cut pieces after they are made.
Punch tip: If you ever find that your piece of paper is too small to hold in the punch so that it is steady and easy to punch, use a sticky note and magically your piece of paper is bigger and easier to handle.
The second card has bees again, but for this one I just fussy cut some of the images out of the DSP. The sentiment is from
another stamp set (Ice Cream Swirl), but that is the nice thing about stamping - you get to choose what works for you! I love the cute little bees, and the packaged honey and hearts made it perfect for sending a thank you to someone.
For the next card, I really wanted to show that, even though the theme of the suite is bees, there is so much more it can be used for. I focused on the floral DSP choices in the package. The red one functions as a belly band to hold the card closed. The focal point is attached to it rather than the card itself. The card base is a very simple fun fold. I scored it at both ends rather than in the middle.
Inside, I repeated the DSP on the side flaps, and added a piece to write the message on. I included a sentiment in the middle as well. My husband likes those cards better because
then he doesn't have to think of something to write! I feel this sometimes too. 😅The last card was the other one from the On Stage designs. I am really happy with it, although I wish I had paid more attention to which direction I cut the DSP. The honeycomb would have been better the other direction so it was less linear. Yep... now you all see that flaw too!
The Adhesive-Backed Flowers & Hearts were perfect in this card to finish it off. I used them in some of the other cards too. Can you spot them?
I hope that you liked the cards that I made with the new products from the 2024 Jan-Apr Mini Catalog. The Sale-a-bration add ons for the first two sets were amazing (check out the previous post to see these).
Thanks for reading. Drop a comment and tell me which card was your favourite, or even which products you liked.
