Colour Inspiration - Cloud Cover

I am slowly getting back into a craft mindset. It has been tough this summer. Garage sale, cleaning and organizing my teacher supplies to sell, and taking some time to work on my garden has been my first priority. Now that some of those things are looked after and progressing, I have taken a few opportunities to work in my craft room. 

Today, I decided to tackle a project I had in mind because of the In Color sale this month. I chose to start with Cloud Cover. Using the image from Stampin'Up! as a start, I chose to use Flirty Flamingo, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, and Old Olive. Cloud Cover provided the card base. It is a nice, soft almost neutral blue colour, and serves to bring the other colours together. 

Using Thankful Gardens, I chose a flower image to stamp in Basic Gray. Next, using the matching masks, I coloured the image with Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia, then Old Olive for the leaves. The blending brushes did double duty and helped with the soft colour on the edges of the Basic White panel. I love softening and adding texture and depth to my cards like this. 

The Flirty Flamingo came in as colour on the Damask Designs embossing folder. You simply ink the folder and then run it through to simultaneously emboss and colour the Basic White cardstock. 

The sentiment was mounted on coordinating pieces, and. Popped up with dimensionals. I especially like the way I placed the pieces. I often stick with straight and even, but decided to change it up this time. 

A little Linen Thread, a sneak peek of the Hues of Blue Flowers embellishments and, voila! I love how it turned out. I inked the corner of the envelope and inside panel. A small leaf stamp and some scraps of paper finished them both off.
