Colour Inspiration - Darling Duckling
Last week, I shared my Cloud Cover In Colour 2025-2027 featured card. This week, another colour from the set with a totally different vibe.
Darling Duckling, in contrast to cool and serene Cloud Cover, is a wow, in your face, bright summer colour. I have to admit, I was not a fan of the In Colors released for 2025, but with this combination, I am wondering over on this colour.
I added Berry Burst, Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue, and Bubble Bath cardstock. This combo of colours worked so well, I decided to let them all take centre stage. I kept it very simple, playing with the layout slightly to create the neat and OCD worthy Choose Love card, and the slightly off kilter, quirky Happy Birthday card.
The Choose Happy stamps set, photopolymer with an assortment of individual words and small images, was a great choice. It fits lots of occasions. Using a couple of circle punches with Basic White and Basic Black, the simple look of the sentiment on the colourful backdrop was perfect. I love how it pops on the colourful background, all the while letting the colours shine.
Do your fingers get all tied up trying to tie a bow? A simple knot can be perfect. I often do knots, especially with ribbon that has a distinct front and back like this Balmy Blue and White retired one does. Bow making can be a frustrating task for many. I try to use patience, and remember that at the end of the day, the imperfections really just show that your work is hand made.
Supplies for these cards are listed below. I really recommend buying the In Color cardstocks in the multipacks. It gives you a little of each to try out and see if you like them. I think this project has won my love for Darling Duckling!
